Healthy eating is important to me because I realize that health is wealth! What we eat often reflects how we feel physically and how we feel about ourselves mentally. I can’t be my best self if I’m constantly feeding my body food that doesn’t fuel me.
For me, it’s about making food choices that are not only good for me, but for our environment.
Pressure from mainstream media to overindulge and the constant reminders of the SAD (standard American diet). Going vegan for me meant unlearning a lot of things that I thought to be true my entire life. This was challenging!
My usual fresh produce and shelf-stable items for sure, but I LOVE vegan ice cream so I always check the frozen treats aisle to see if there are any new flavors out! ?
Not yet, but looking forward to doing so in the future!
Change doesn’t happen overnight. If you want to switch to a healthier lifestyle it’s important to take it one step at a time. For you this might mean approaching breakfast differently. Then as you feel more comfortable, creating healthier options for lunch and then eventually dinner. In addition, I always encourage people to know what they’re eating. You’ll find out a lot by reading labels!
